I have recently been made aware of a recent talk show hosts comments that are just plain ridiculous. Michael Savage, a nationally syndicated talk show host made these comments about Autism

“Now you want me to tell you my opinion on autism since I’m not talking about autism … a fraud, a racket,” Michael Savage said last week on his radio show, “The Savage Nation.”

The shock jock went on to say, “What do you mean they scream and they’re silent? They don’t have a father around to tell them don’t act like a moron, you’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up! Act like a man! Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.’”

 This is just plain sad. If he would have been talking about the over diagnosis of ADHD I might have been inclined to agree with him. But the comments he made about Autism simply show that he is not educated on the subject at all which makes him a total moran for making the comments.

In my son Luke’s case he is 8 years old and cannot speak a word. He is still in diapers and needs help with feeding and other things as well. So according to Michael Savage, all I have to do is yell at him to stop acting like a putz! While I’m at it maybe I can beat him until he tells me why he’s crying right?
