Well, all I can say is it has not been a very fun week. Hurricane Gustav wreaked havoc on this region and hundreds of thousands of people are without power and other utilities. I am still without power here in Vacherie but we did get phones and internet back today, woohooo!!!

We are deep in the heart of Hurricane Gustav now here in Vacherie, Louisiana. The eye is passing about 30 miles away from us and we are seeing hurricane force winds now. Overall it’s not as bad as it could have been and I think we’ll be ok. Luckily we haven’t even lost power yet [...]

Well, for the last 3 days we’ve been boarding up homes, buying supplies, and doing everything humanly possible to prepare for Hurricane Gustav. Lot’s of fun! Actually I’m pretty beat and ready to finally sit back and relax and maybe even drink a beer. lol
